Pre Allocation based on Personal Circumstances
A small number of students have significant personal circumstances that entitle them to provisional pre-allocation to a particular Foundation School. Applicants may self refer or be referred by their Medical School.
The Applicant Handbook has been designed to answer all your questions about the national application process for all Foundation Programmes commencing in August 2026. The handbook also explains how to access the online application system (Oriel) and what information you need to provide to support your application.
By following this link you will be taken to all the information and guidance relating to the Pre Allocation national process.
Pre-allocation
The Peninsula Foundation School will only honour matching to Group level (for information on how our Groups are split please see Programmes & Job Descriptions) for the following Pre-allocated applicants:
- All Pre-allocation applicants who are the parent or legal guardian of children under the age of 18. Applicants will be matched to a Group/programme in the trust/ city or town nearest their home address.
- All Pre-allocation applicants who declare any health reasons that are confirmed by an occupational health recommendation report clearly stating that they need to be in the Group/trust/ city or town nearest their home address.
- The school will also consider any exceptional circumstances on the production of suitable supporting evidence e.g. Olympians who need to be in a particular location near to their training camp base. Needing to live near a partner or family is NOT considered an exceptional circumstance. The decision on whether to grant an exceptional circumstance will be made by the Peninsula Foundation School Director. There is no appeals process.
All other Pre-allocation applicants will be matched to school only and will be allocated to their Group and programme using the UKFPO’s Preferenced Informed Allocation (PIA) algorithm.
Pre-allocation to programmes does not include any SFP or FPP programmes.
