The Foundation Programme
The Peninsula Foundation School is the organisational unit responsible for the operational aspects of delivering the Foundation Training Programmes that are based in Trusts:
Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust based in Barnstaple
University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust based at Derriford, Plymouth
Royal Devon and Exeter Foundation Trust based in Exeter
Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust based in Truro
Torbay & South Devon NHS Foundation Trust based in Torbay
The School operates under the control of the Postgraduate Dean, Professor Martin Beaman and exists to ensure that the educational infrastructure required to deliver high quality Foundation Programmes is in place. Overall accountability for the quality of training delivered through the School rests with the University and the Postgraduate Dean, with particular responsibility for the F1 year falling to the University. The Peninsula Foundation School is part of Peninsula Postgraduate Medical Education.
