Recruitment to two year Foundation Programmes August 2017: Stage 1
Outcome for Peninsula Medical School (PMS) Students
192 PMS students were eligible to apply for the two year foundation programme. 13 students secured an academic foundation post and 3 students did not apply. Of the 176 students who applied 43 (24%) put the Peninsula Foundation School as their first choice compared with a national mean of 42% choosing their home foundation school first.
40 PMS students have a place in the Peninsula Foundation school, of which 8 (20%) put another school as their first choice but have been allocated a place in the Peninsula. These 8 students put Peninsula as their 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice. 10 PMS students put the Peninsula as their first choice but did not secure a place. In this first stage of recruitment there is 1 PMS student on the national reserve list and 1 applicant has withdrawn their application.

Nationally 74% of applicants on the primary list got their 1st choice foundation school. 55% (97) of PMS students have secured their first choice.
