Recruitment to two year Foundation Programmes August 2016: Stage 1
Outcome for Peninsula Medical School (PMS) Students
200 PMS students were eligible to apply for the two year foundation programme. 5 students secured an academic foundation post and 2 students did not apply. Of the 193 students who applied 65 (34%) put the Peninsula Foundation School as their first choice compared with a national mean of 40.5% choosing their home foundation school first.
62 PMS students have a place in the Peninsula Foundation school, of which 7 (11%) put another school as their first choice but have been allocated a place in the Peninsula. These 7 students put Peninsula as their 2nd choice. 10 PMS students put the Peninsula as their first choice but 9 did not secure a place and 1 withdrew their application. In this first stage of recruitment there are 2 PMS students on the national reserve list and 2 applicants have withdrawn their application.

Nationally 94.3% of applicants on the primary list got one of their top 5 foundation schools. 87% (163) of PMS students got a top five choice and 70% (131) have secured their first choice. The worst outcome for a PMS student on the primary list was 13th choice.
