Study Leave and Tasters

Please access the current Foundation Study Leave Policy below. The Study Leave Policy has been designed to ensure that the management of study leave across the Peninsula Foundation School is in line with the national Reference Guide, 2012. The Policy should be read with reference to each Trust's own study leave guidance which should explain the entitlement and application process.

Tasters in Psychiatry

Welcome to the Peninsula Foundation School Psychiatry Taster Scheme. This scheme has been set up to help any trainees interested in gaining experience and understanding of working and training in psychiatry, to undertake taster programmes in the specialty. We aim to match you to consultant psychiatrists, trainees and teams in a geographical area of your choice, as well as help you gain experience of sub-specialities that interest you. To read reports and gain feedback from trainees who have already completed taster programmes in psychiatry, please click on the links above.

The scheme is organised with the help of local trainees who are the first point of contact for anyone interested in a taster and who will help to organise a programme that meets your needs as closely as possible.

Some sample timetables for are available for Cornwall Foundation Trust which can be flexible to move sessions around on request.

If you would like to know more or arrange a taster programme, please get in touch with the trainee representative from the area of your interest:
